National Apology Day – 2021

The 13 February is a significant day in Australian history and it is a date to be remembered.

On this day in 2008, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd delivered the National Apology to Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for the injustices of past government policies, particularly to the Stolen Generations.

It has been 13 years since the National Apology was delivered and it is a day that should not be forgotten.

For many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, their removal as children and the abuse they experienced at the hands of the authorities or their delegates have permanently scarred their lives.
